After reading the positive reviews, I decided to purchase this mount for a 52" LCD. The pride in saving $200 over other mounts quickly disappeared after I started to put it together. As you can see from the picture, there are 2 vertical pieces of metal that attach to the back of the TV. The 2 horizontal supports then attach to the vertical pieces (and that unit then connects to the cantilever arms). Because TVs have all ranges of widths, the horizontal supports have moving tracks for the connections where the vertical pieces bolt in to. To keep them completely centered, the place where the bolts go move on tracks with enclosed gears. Basic idea is that the connections can be moved to accommodate the width of the TV where the bolts into the TV go, and the gears make it so if you move one 5" left of center, the other one will go exactly 5" to the right of center (thus keeping the mount centered on the back of the TV). On mine, however, the top track/gear was fine, but the bottom was incorrectly installed, so that you couldn't even expand the connections, and if you did, it was all off-centered. After an hour or two of trying to pry the gears apart and finally cutting away some pieces, I was able to center the track. Bottom line, though, is there was no quality control when this was produced (just looking at it and I could tell there was a problem). If I wasn't fairly handy, I would have had to return the entire product as it was unusable as received.
Once I got past that problem, though, everything was fine. I do like the fact that it is very easy to adjust the TV to level by just rotating the TV. It seems pretty hefty, so I am not concerned with my TV crashing.

I needed to mount my heavy 52" TV on the wall, and I was staggered to see the $400 to $800 price tags at Best Buy etc. I found this Cheetah brand here on Amazon, and the price seemed more sensible (after all, we're just talking about some steel and hinges!).
The mount worked great, and is super-strong, rated to 180 lbs. My TV is about 90 lbs. It is very universal and adjustable, so it can handle any TV.
It tilts and swings in ALL directions, side to side, up-down, and it pivots. We have it on a basement wall, and if you are working or exercising "off to the side" you can swing the TV around to view it from anywhere.
This mount is not one of those "recessed" mounts that is set back in-between the studs (need to cut a hole in the drywall). Instead this just mounts on wall, so it does make the TV stick out 3" or 4", but that is standard for non-flush TV mounts.
The only downside on this mount is that one of its adjumtments included two sliding brackets that were interconnected by a gear (hard to explain in words ... youll know it when you see it) and mine came mis-adjusted. It was a royal pain to re-align them, but I eventually got it (and Im pretty mechanically inclined). But maybe that was just an isolated problem.
Summary: This is an OUTSTANDING value. The price is about what TV mounts SHOULD cost. Im a frugal guy, and Im happy with this purchase. The big brands (Chief and Sanus) are twice as expensive with no real benefit.

Well packaged, good instruction manual, included all parts (screws, spacers, washers, etc.) needed for any possible compatible TV (8 different sizes of bolts!). The paper template made installation a breeze (you do need two people for large TV's, though). Mount is PLENTY strong (it held my entire body weight from the TV side of the mount at full extension with no problem). With TV mounted, you can easily adjust forward tilt (probably better with two people - there are two bolts to hand adjust), rotational pivot (with one finger), left-right swivel (one handed), or extension (two hands). Cords are able to be hidden inside the arms of the mount.
In summary: I can't find a single flaw with this mount!
