The amp arrived incredibly fast. They must have shipped it the same day. Came in double boxed, perfect shape. Installed the amp in my boat. Driving my two main Alpine 6.5" marine speakers and used the other two channels with the LPF for a separate 10" subwoofer. Tweeked the settings to my taste, which is a good amount of bass. Big upgrade in sound with this new amp. Sweet!
Kenwood KAC-8405 Review by DDD
If you're looking for a basic system, this amp IS the solution. First and foremost, I initially purchased an offbrand amp looking to save a few dollars. Boy, was that a mistake. The sound was hollow, and un-natural sounding. So, I find this KAC-8405, which had a similar power rating to the "cheap" amp (Crutchfield private label Sound Ordnance). All I did was swap the power, ground, remote, and speaker wires over from the cheap amp to this one and turned the stereo on.
In my particular set up, I have the two front channels connected to a set of 6 1/2" component speakers and the rear channels bridged to one 4ohm JL Audio 8W1V2 subwoofer. There are your basic controls that one would expect from most amps. Adjustable High and low pass crossovers for the front and rear channels. There is also a defeatable 18db bass boost switch for the rear channels if you are driving subwoofers, much like in my specific application. One other thing I like a lot about the amp is that there are dual cooling fans when the amp heats up.
Overall, AMAZING is all I can say. The sound quality is there and the bass hits harder compared to the Sound Ordnance amp. I've been doing novice car audio installs for about 10 years now and this amp is up there is sound quality; please believe me in telling you this. You will not be disappointed if you're looking for something with great sound quality, but are not looking to notify the block when you are around with crazy SPL levels of music.

I bought this amp from Overstock.com because it was a few bucks cheaper than amazon at the time. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad Cab that I just bought and wanted to upgrade the system. I installed a pair of Infinity Reference 5.25" (75w RMS) components with a plate adapter in the front doors, and added a 12" RF (200w RMS) under the back seat in a custom box. I searched around for an amp that would push all of these optimally for a good price, and the KAC-8405 is what I found. When it arrived about 2 hours ago, it came with an instruction manual, allen wrench, speaker lead input harness, and the amp itself. It really does only have the footprint of a sheet of standard paper and fit nicely under my front driver seat. I decided to keep the stock head unit, so I ran six strands of 16awg speaker cable from the head unit to the amp. I ran four leads from every speaker channel (+/-) to the amplifier, only tapping into the rears, and ran 2 more leads going directly to the components. Aside from the 6 speaker cables, the only other wiring I did was an 8awg from the battery, grounded an 8awg to the seat bolt, and bridged the "B" channel to the subwoofer. I did not run a remote turn on wire, as the speaker level inputs turn the amp on/off when they send a signal. Basically, when the amp came in, I simply wired everything right up, tucked the wires, tuned (front then rear), and replaced the cover plate. All I can say is "wow". For a little amp, this sucker packs a punch! I didn't even install my 1 farad cap and have virtually no dimming or voltage drop. After a little tuning the high pass and gains for the front, and the low pass for the rear w/ bass boost, it sounds great. Produces crisp, loud mids and highs without distortion, and solid - tight lows (even on the 12" sub I had lying around). The remote turn on from the speaker leads work like a charm, and I leveled all of the settings to zero on the stock head unit. For the price, I'm really impressed with this guy - and its not my first rodeo with mobile installs. I highly recommend this one to push your 4 door channels, or to do a 2.1 3 channel setup as I just described. You won't be disappointed.
